  • Remote Learning Information

    Tue 05 Jan 2021

    05.01.21

    Dear Parents and Carers,

Here we go again! We are so focussed on, not only supporting your child’s mental health through Care Corner, we are also committed to providing quality education through remote learning via Google Classroom and other supportive apps.

From Monday, we will begin to distribute Lenovo devices to every child at our school to undertake their school work on.  I am very excited to be able to provide this valuable tool.  Once children have returned to school they will be using their tablet as an integral part of their learning both at school and home so it is important that you keep it safe.

Here’s how it’s going to work!

    1. You will receive a text to tell you that your child’s device is available for collection from school.
    2. On collection you will be provided with a contract of use, log in information and instructions of how to use the Lenovo device.
    3. Your child is ready to go!

PLEASE NOTE REMOTE LEARNING IS NOT A CHOICE, JUST AS SCHOOL IS NOT A CHOICE.  THIS IS ESSENTIAL SCHOOL WORK THAT YOUR CHILD MUST UNDERTAKE.

We are able to see when each child has logged on and completed their work and will be monitoring the situation closely.  We will be contacting any parents of children who do not engage in remote learning.

We also have systems in place to support your child if they find their remote learning difficult.  If this happens, they should send a message to their teacher via Google Classroom and their teacher will either answer them on Google classroom or call them at home to help whenever they can.

Key worker and vulnerable children who attend our hubs

If your child attends our hubs, they will be undertaking their schoolwork on their device during this time and will be supported in exactly the same way as above.

All children across our academy trust will have access to quality, remote education.

If you have any queries about any of this, please just ring school and talk to us.

Together we can do this!  Kind regards,

    Karen Hutchings
