From 20 April, you’ll be able to access regular daily lessons in English and Maths, as well as other core subjects, on the BBC Bitesize website and also on special programmes broadcast on BBC iPlayer and BBC Red Button.

BBC iPlayer and the Red Button service will host Bitesize Daily. These are six different 20 minute shows, each designed to target a specific age group, from ages five to 14, and for pupils throughout the UK. Experts and teachers will be involved, covering what should be learned that day for the different year groups and key stages. Maths, Science and English will be covered in dedicated programmes, and other subjects such as History, Geography, Music and Art will also be covered.

NEW TOPIC - THE TUDORS

Our new topic for the next few weeks is 'The Tudors'. Lets learn as much as we can about the War of the Roses, the Battle of Bosworth, King Henry VIII, and the creation of the Church of England. I absolutely love this topic and I am so sad that I don't get to teach it to you!

Some possible activities...

Use the red book I gave you to do some research on the Tudors and write about it, make a poster about Tudor life, draw a Tudor house and label it, draw a portrait of King Henry, write a story set in Tudor times or even write a fact file about Kind Henry VIII's wives . You may want to be super creative and make your own Tudor Rose out of plasticine or playdough.

And remember to keep checking Purple Mash as I will set you some Tudor related activities on there!

You can learn loads about the Tudors on the internet, one of my favourite websites is Primary Homework Help http://www.primaryhomeworkhelp.co.uk/Tudors.html

Purple Mash

https://www.purplemash.com/sch/roscoe

Purple Mash is a fantastic online learning platform with hundreds and hundreds of activities to complete. Each week I will be setting work for you to do at home. When you login check your 2Do folder at the top of the page to find them. Don't forget to click save and hand in when you have finished.

As well as me setting you work there are also lots more activities you can complete such as reading comprehensions, spelling  games, maths activities, art projects and computing activities.

It is important that you log into Purple Mash as often as you can to complete the work that has been set for you each week! Have fun exploring and learning using Purple Mash!

Twitter

Please ask your adults to check out Mr Harwood's Twitter account everyday for the latest updates! Just Google Mr Harwood Twitter or search for me @roscoeprimary19

Finally...

Try not to get too stressed with how much 'school work' you have to do. Just use the resources if you need them, you can learn in many different ways, you could use this time off school to learn how to cook, how to speak another language, to play a musical instrument, to learn about nature and lots of other things. The most important thing is to have fun while you learn!

See you when you come back to school.
