PE

In Year 3 we have two PE lessons a week, they will take place on a Monday & Wednesday Afternoon.

Children are required to bring in a kit which includes: white top, black shorts and pumps.

Homework

Reading

Children are expected to be reading a few pages each night. It is also helpful if parents/carers can sign the reading records to ensure there is open communication when it comes to reading and the progress being made.

Spellings

On Wednesday, children will be given their spellings and will be tested the following Wednesday. We will have practice sessions in class every week but practice at home is vital, especially when it comes to some of the more difficult spelling rules.

Times Tables

It is incredibly important that the children know their times tables, in Year 4 the children complete a Times Table Test so we spend Year 3 preparing for that test.

We do practice times tables within class in preparation for our Friday Tests, but practicing at home is also incredibly beneficial.

Weekly Homework

Children will be given one piece of English or Maths homework a week. This will alternate between the two subjects. The homework will always be based on something that we have looked at in class.

The homework will be given on a Monday and due in on a Friday.
