Can you believe we are beginning our last term together? Let's make it the best one yet!
This term we are learning all about Rainforests! We will explore the location of rainforests using maps and atlases, we will learn about the weather in rainforests, we will explore the different animals that live within the many layers and we will begin to understand what deforestation means and the impact it has on the environment.
Here are some websites that you might find interesting
Please see below for our favourite Rainforest song (sorry parents/carers!)
In our History work we are leaning about The Vikings! We will learn about Viking life, how the Vikings invaded Britain, who King Ethelred was and how the Vikings shaped Britain.

It is very important in year 3 that children read every day at home, and their books are brought back to school each morning. Spellings are given out once a week (Monday) and children have a week to learn these words for a test on Friday.
Spellings that are given follow the government guidelines for the age group, and children should be able to spell these words by the end of the year. Along with spellings, times tables should also be practised at home as often as possible. Children will be tested on times tables weekly. This is important as children need these skills for their everyday maths lessons.
Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school every Monday and it stays in school until Friday. This is due to the changes in weather ! Our 'normal' PE slot is a Wednesday afternoon.
