Dear Children, Parents and Carers,
I am delighted to welcome you all to year 2K! My name is Miss Kenyon and I am the class teacher. In our classroom we also have 2 other fantastic adults, Miss Murphy and Miss Jenson.
We have lots of fantastic learning lined up for the children in Autumn Term. We have recently been reading a wonderful book in Literacy called Rascally Cakes all about Rufus Skumskins who loves revolting food! We are also enjoying our current class read, George's Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl.
Maths this term is all about place value and number. We will be carrying on with the scheme of Singapore Maths which was hugely successful last year and very popular with the children.
We have many engaging curriculum topics for the children to enjoy this Autumn from the Great Fire of London in History to investigating materials in Science. We will also be studying Andy Pollock in Art and making a moving vehicle in DT. It's all going to be very exciting!
PE is on Wednesday and Thursday.
Homework and spelling is given out Monday and due back Friday please.
To ensure your child reaches their full potential please support them by reading with them as often as possible with their school reading book.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. I am available for a short time in the morning on the play ground and after school on the playground. If you require a meeting please let me know and I will see you as soon as I can.
I look forward to meeting you all and a successful year with your wonderful children!
