Welcome to Year 1

Hello and welcome to 1B's class page. On this page you will find useful information regarding the curriculum, homework, timetables and any other important information.

Our year 1 team are:

Mrs Black (Class teacher)

Mrs McArdle (Teaching assistant)

Homework

Reading

It is important that you read a few pages with your child each night, please ensure that your child's reading record is signed and brought to school daily.

Spellings

On a Monday, children will be given words from the year 1 expected words list. Please support your child with their spellings at home as often as you can. Children will be tested on their spellings the following Tuesday.

Weekly Homework

Along with their spellings and reading, children will also be given either a Maths or English homework relating to what we have been learning that week. During Autumn term, we will be sending handwriting sheets as homework to support children with their letter and number formations.

Homework will be handed out on a Monday and due in on Friday.

PE

Our PE lessons are on a Tuesday afternoon. Children must wear black shorts/jogging bottoms, a white t-shirt and black pumps. Please ensure your child's PE kit is in school of a Tuesday. We encourage children to leave their PE kits in school until the end of term when they will be sent home and expected to be brought back in the first Tuesday of the new term.
