We are back in action starting back full time altogether. This has enabled the children to get to know the routines and boundaries in class quickly.
The children are enjoying exploring the new areas of the classroom. They have blown me away already with their excellent tidyup skills. We are learning how to look after our things in class and they know that tidy up time is a very important part of the day.
In Autumn 1, our new topic is SUPER ME SUPER YOU!
We learn about the similarities and differences we have with our friends and family and we have loved sharing things that we are good at.
Reading books have been sent out and we read with your child 4 times per week. Please support this at home by following the hints and tips sent out in your child's book bag.
Please encourage your child to practise writing their name at home.
We are following Letters & Sounds to learn letter sounds, you can watch videos and play games online relating to this scheme.
In Maths, we are focusing on patterns in shapes, colours and sizes. We are signing number songs each day and we will start focusing on one number per week, really getting to know each number and what it represents for counting, money, time, in song and in shape.
During this topic we also learn about changes in the seasons are we welcome the Autumn time.
Keep and eye on our twitter page roscoeprimary33 for daily photos and videos of play and learning in action!
If you would like to chat to me, please don't hesitate to ask. We can't wait to work with you this year!

This term we are learning all about Space in our topic 'Out Of This World'.
We will be learning to write in a variety of ways including; labelling, list writing, postcards and letters.
In Maths we will be learning how to count on and back, find one more and one less and begin some addition.
Our new topic will enable us to explore Space and the Solar system through fiction and non fiction, videos, pictures, role-play and art and technology.
Please read the news letter to keep up to date with events taking place in school and celebrations of the children's work and attitude through star of the week.
Please remember to read with your child at home for 5 minutes each night and practise their tricky and high frequency words. This will give them the best foundation for reading and writing.
See twitter for recent pictures of what is happening daily :)
