Mighty Red Assembly

This week's assembly was a huge hit thanks to a special guest: LFC's mighty red! He joined us to celebrate our class dojo winners, and each class even got a fantastic photo with him. See all the class pictures on your child's class dojo page!

Creepy Crawly Show

This week reception and year 4 had a fantastic morning with the creepy crawly show! They learnt some amazing facts and had the opportunity to ask lots of questions, too, as well as meeting a snake, cockroaches, giant snails, a gecko and even a tarantula!

Magic Literacy Event

Some pupils from Years 4 and 5 were extremely fortunate to be able to attend Liverpool John Moores University for the wonder of reading workshop with Liverpool author Frank Cottrellboyce.

The children performed part of a new book the wonder brothers, learnt magic tricks and gained a new magic name. What a magical day!!! We would like to share with you the lovely email that was sent to Mrs Jones by LJMU after the wonder of reading event on Wednesday.

Dear Mrs Jones, we just wanted to thank you for facilitating your children and teachers to attend the wonder of reading event with Frank Cottrell-boyce, today. They were an absolute credit to you and Roscoe primary school; polite, enthusiastic, keen to participate, full of great ideas and such good company!

LFC STEM

On Thursday, three of our Year 4 children went to the Titanic Hotel for an LFC foundation event on computing. This involved building a lego robot called a ‘little helper’, once it was built they then used their coding skills to get the robot to drive around a map. Once the full course had been coded in the children then started the competitive element of the event.

The children were supplied with a team of plastic Liverpool players and the idea was the team bus had broken down and the robot would transport the players one at a time to the stadium. Our team managed to get 6 players to the stadium in the time allowed. While they were transporting players one of the event organisers praised the team for the accuracy of the coding. Our three children worked amazingly as a team throughout the morning.

Weekly Attendance

Attendance counts! Attend today, achieve tomorrow.

We have made super gains with whole school attendance this week and have ended the week back up at 96%. Our Year 1 class have had 100% attendance all week. This is amazing! It is really important that all children attend school for the remainder of the summer term as we have transition days for new classes, performances, visitors in school and trips out. We are now confident that we will hit our target of 97% over the final weeks of summer term. Thank you.
