This week, reception through to Year 4 enjoyed an exciting sports day filled with fun and energy! The children took part in a variety of activities, including races, obstacle courses, and even some lively parent races and dancing.

Thank you to everyone who came along to support. Unfortunately, due to the rain, the Year 5 and Year 6 sports days were cancelled until Monday 23rd June. Nursery sports day will be held on Thursday 19th June at 2pm. All details can be found on class dojo.

Dot-Art

We had a wonderful day on Wednesday celebrating young talent at the dot-art schools’ prize giving! We were so proud to see pupils from Year 5 shine alongside talented Year 5 & Year 9 artists from across the Liverpool city region. From the stunning concert room at St George's Hall to the inspiring exhibition at Walker Art Gallery - the day was pure magic! Congratulations Penny, Allison and Yusuf.

Diversity Workshop

This week, The LFC Foundation came in for a powerful diversity workshop for upper key stage 2. Year 5 and Year 6 took part in a powerful diversity lesson that began with some fun but purposefully unfair games, helping the children realise that not everything in life is always equal or just.

This sparked thoughtful discussions about what diversity means and why it's important. The children explored how our school and wider community are made up of people from many different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. They also looked at well-known celebrities and football players to understand how diversity is represented in the world around them. The pupils were very engaged throughout the session and showed great curiosity and respect as they reflected on what makes each person unique.

Nursery Art

This week, nursery created beautiful cards for their loved ones. The children visited the Butterfly Forest and hand-picked the flowers; they then used these to make their cards. Children have also been completing observational drawings of flowers.

Year 4 Electricity

This week in Science, Year 4 have been testing if materials are conductors or insulators whilst identifying if a bulb will light up in a circuit. They used a number of different insulators and conductors in class. Everyone had great fun.

Weekly Attendance

Attendance counts! Attend today, achieve tomorrow.

Attendance has dropped to one of its lowest levels this year, nearing the threshold for persistent absenteeism. We ask for families to work with school to prioritise regular daily attendance and to ensure children are in school every day, unless genuinely unwell. School are here to support you with this should you need it. Please remember that schools are required to issue fines for holidays taken during term time.
