Welcome to Butterflies our 2 year old provision at Roscoe Primary School

Our 2 year old nursery 'Butterflies' provides education and childcare, our qualified and experienced team commit to consistently improve on their service delivery and practices.

Our Aims

To provide individual care, learning and play making the children feel valued and are free from discrimination.

To provide positive images and role models to develop children's awareness of gender, individual need,ability, race, religion and culture. We seek to give all children a positive self -image and equal access to the whole EYFS Curriculum.

To help children acquire skills to develop their self confidence.

Good nursery practice adhering to the 7 Areas of Learning.

Fun but carefully planned activities to develop children's emotional, physical, social and intellectual capabilities.

A healthy balanced snack.

Having a positive approach to children's behaviour.

Having good relations with parents/carers by working together.

To protect and safeguard your child through policies and procedures.


 

Butterflies is part of Roscoe Primary School and works with its experienced staff. 

Children within the nursery are able to participate in weekly sessions, during these sessions we are able to provide different experiences for the children to participate in following their own child led interests.

Both our indoor and outdoor environments provide opportunities for learning and development that are rich, stimulating and fulfilling,

The daily routine incorporates Learning through Play, key worker time and activities that builds on the children's developing knowledge and curiosity. 

 

Through our bespoke planning we can provide engaging activities that promote physical co-ordination and manipulative skills, role- play and language development, music and movement, song/story times, musical instrument sessions and outdoor play. 

The children's interest are used to carefully plan for their next steps within the setting as they independently access the resources within their child initiated play opportunities.

As parents you are the most important people in your child's life, we value and recognise your opinions and concerns and will  endeavour to support your children through their learning and development.

Please share with us as much information as possible so that we have a good understanding about your child which will help them through the settling in period.

Children naturally want to run, roll around and get messy during their time in nursery so please ensure your child is dressed in appropriate clothing to allow for this. Although uniform in our 2yr Old provision is not compulsory it is advised and allows the children to explore their surroundings freely without any clothing restrictions.no We ask that you provide a spare set of clothes which they can be changed easily into in case any mishaps occur. In addition to this plenty of underclothes and socks if and when potty training, This of which can be discussed on a one-one basis in relation to the individual child an his/ her development.

 

Children are encouraged to share a healthy snack and a drink of milk in a small friendly group where a member of staff of the EYFS Butterflies team will promote good table manners and encourage the children to be independent in their feeding.

We do ask for a small £1 snack money contribution, payable weekly or half termly and is greatly appreciated and helps us provide a variety of healthy snacks.

If at any time you have any worries or cocerns however small please do not hesitate to raise them with myself Miss Nolan (Butterflies Manager)

On the other hand we would love to hear if you are happy with our practice as it helps us know that we are doing the best for your child.
