Swimming lessons take place on a Tuesday afternoon, leaving shortly after lunchtime.

The children must bring with them:

Boys: Swimming shorts, a towel and a swimming cap.

Girls: Swimming costume, a towel and a swimming cap.

Daily Homework

It is important for your child to read a few pages each night as this has a huge effect on their confidence and progress in all other areas. Where possible, please ensure that your child's reading record is signed on a daily basis as they will be rewarded with dojos. We allow children in Year 6 to sign their own reading diaries if nobody at home can do so.

Weekly Homework

On Wednesday's children will be given a range of spellings from the expected words lists and words to assist the learning of general spelling rules. They will then be tested on the following Wednesday.

Times Tables.

It is vital that the children know their times tables as these impact on everything we do wishing lessons involving maths. Please ensure that your child practices their times tables regularly, as they will be tested on these twice a week.

SPaG Homework.

With the SATs in May, children will be given SPaG homework every week in the form of a CGP Revision Guide and workbook. This will be given on a Tuesday and due in on a Friday.

Maths Homework.

To help with their SATs, the children will also have weekly Maths homework again in the form of a CGP Revision guide and workbook. This will be given on a Friday and due in on a Tuesday.

Autumn Term

This term our topic is Behind Enemy Lines. Our central theme is based around World War II and Letters From the Lighthouse will be one of our class novels.

We will be looking at the different aspects of the War and how it impacted so many in different ways.
