In Roscoe Primary School, we believe that PSHE education helps pupils to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to thrive as individuals, family members and members of society.
Research shows that pupils who are emotionally healthy do better at school. PSHE education helps children to achieve their potential by supporting their well being and tackling issues that can affect their ability to learn.
Each Year group focus's on a different theme each half term and the children are involved in discussions, projects and activities to support their learning of the curriculum. Please see the attached Curriculum overview to view what each Year group are focusing on.
At Roscoe Primary school, the social, moral, spiritual and cultural development of all pupils is embedded in all that we do. In each lesson, staff identify opportunities for developing the SMSC framework and gather evidence to evaluate the coverage of the framework.
Each week there is a theme for collective worship. This is followed by the whole school. During Monday assembly, the Head of School will introduce the theme and staff will continue this through their collective worship sessions throughout the week.
