Class 3K

Welcome to Class 3K!

Welcome to our page! I am Miss Kenyon, the class teacher, and I work along side our wonderful TA, Mrs Fearon.

This page will be packed full of information about what will be going on throughout the school year. It will be regularly updated with pictures and stories showing what exiting things the children have been learning about.

During Autumn 1 we will be learning lots of new and exiting things in 3K. We are starting a new maths scheme called Maths No Problem which will promises to make maths more fun and easier to understand.

We will be using the Jane Considine way of writing in English which is packed full of amazing literature and teaches excellent techniques to help the children become outstanding writers.

History will be all about The Stone, Bronze and Iron Age! We will be reading Stig of the Dump and also have a class trip planned to Wrexham where we will travel back in time and become Iron Age Celts for the day! The trip is on 21st September. Children will need to wear comfortable clothing, which may get muddy. They will need to bring a packed lunch to school unless they are entitled to free school meals, in which case one will be provided. The bus leaves at 9.00am so as always, please ensure your child is on time for school. We plan to arrive back at school to go home normal time, traffic permitting.

Science this term will be all about Light and Sound!

Maths or English home work will be given out on Wednesday and collected in on Wednesday. Spellings will be sent home on Monday every week. Spellings are for home practice and do not need to be brought back into school. Times tables will be tested on Thursday and we will be concentrating in 3's, 4's and 8's.  This will start week beginning Monday 18th September.

As last year, excellent behavior will be rewarded with Dojo points throughout the day. Children can cash in Dojos for prizes when they have collected enough. There is also an exciting new Postcard system. You may have a postcard delivered through your door if your child has shown impeccable behaviour, completed some fantastic work or shown resilience or determination during the school day.

If you have an questions during this exciting school year please do not hesitate to ask.
